Chanel Boy Flap bag ponyhair black leather

SKU: 5380
  • Very good condition
Chanel Boy Flap bag in black pony hair with a black leather frame. A ridged leather border, a chunky aged gold chain with a leather shoulder pad and the Boy push-lock that fans call the Lego lock. Karl Lagerfeld launched the Boy in fall 2011 and named it after Arthur “Boy” Capel, the English polo player he called the great love of Coco’s life. The shape comes from a hunter’s cartridge bag that Coco carried herself. So this bag has a love story and a hunting license. And it is not a trend that faded. Chanel raised the Boy’s price again in 2026, and a leather Medium now retails at around $7,400 in the US. Chanel brings the Boy back in new materials season after season, and pony hair is one you do not see on every corner. On the resale market, a pony hair Boy has been listed above the boutique price of a leather one. We think pony hair is the cooler Boy: all the edge, plus a texture you want to touch. Pet it. Then wear it.

Every piece is authenticated before it gets a price tag. No exceptions, and no “authenticated” label on some pieces but not others.

Buying pre-loved is the most sustainable way to wear luxury, though we’d be lying if we said that’s why most people walk in. They come for the bag Louis Vuitton stopped making years ago. The planet benefits anyway.

Not everything that comes through our door ends up on this page. We look at construction, condition and whether we’d wear it ourselves. We say no more often than people expect.

We ship worldwide, packed by hand in our Antwerp boutique. Everything here is one of a kind, and sitting in your cart doesn’t hold it. Rather see it in person first? Come by Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm, or Sunday, 11am to 5pm, and ask for it by name.
