This Louis Vuitton mini Papillon fits barely more than a phone and a lipstick, and that’s exactly the point. The cylindrical shape dates back to the 1960s, one of the house’s oldest silhouettes, shrunk down here into something that was never meant to hold much more than a few coins and an attitude. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan practically made the Papillon a uniform piece in the early 2000s, back when the paparazzi camped outside every club in LA waiting for exactly this kind of bag to walk by.
The Vachetta leather strap has developed the honey patina, which is half the appeal of buying vintage LV instead of new. Condition is good, with wear consistent with its age.
