This Chanel Cruise2023 crop top had the whole team fooled. One look at the checkered flags and spaghetti straps and we were ready to bet it came straight out of 2002, so finding out it’s from 2023 was a proper plot twist. It comes from Virginie Viard’s Cruise 2023 show at the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel, where racing flags covered skirts and dresses and models carried helmets with a big number 5 on them. Here the black and white flags race across a tiny top, with red CCs popping up in between. We’ll take it as proof of what we’ve been saying all along. The ’90s and ’00s never went out of style. They were fashion at its peak, and the rest of the calendar is still catching up. Pair it with low-rise jeans and tiny sunglasses. No further questions.
