Hermès doesn’t do whimsy often, which makes it more interesting when they do. The Cloud wedge has a cutout of a cloud, outlined in silver, set into the black platform, visible on both sides of the heel. Black suede straps, substantial wedge, the kind of shoe that rewards people who look down. Everything else about it is understated enough that the detail lands rather than overwhelms.
